Raman Spectroscopy as an advanced PAT Tool For In-Line and Real-Time Monitoring of Bioprocesses

Raman spectroscopy is one of the technologies utilized in the implementation of Process Analytical Technology (PAT). It allows for the non-destructive and consistent analysis of chemical composition and molecular structure. This method eliminates the potential loss of chemical information caused by degradation, instability, or sample preparation.

It provides the following advantages:

  • Real-time and in-situ measurements can be achieved using Raman spectroscopy.
  • This analytical technique is non-destructive, allowing for sample preservation.
  • Raman spectroscopy has the unique capability of capturing a wide range of biological and chemical information within a single spectrum.
  • Its high selectivity enables the identification of specific molecules based on their distinct spectral signatures.
  • The implementation of Raman spectroscopy technology in processes is streamlined by utilizing an inline probe, simplifying integration.
